A notebook of stray thoughts from your pals Cindy Hotpoint & Pinkie Von Bloom. Because we like more than just
music, you know. You can reach us at elegantfaker AT gmail DOT com. We <3 you!
(To our Tumblr followers: we read you on the feed side b/c Cindy really loathes using the Tumblr interface for reading posts.)
I am always complaning that music is becoming more and more infantalized and bitch that there’s just not enough protest music anywhere. So it would be hypocritical of me not to mention Ted Leo and the Pharmacists’ new
Rapid Response EP — four songs, four bucks — and all proceeds will benefit Democracy Now! and Minneapolis Food Not Bombs. Please note that this post does not imply endorsement of either organization. I do, however, endorse musicians who write thought-provoking songs and who support causes that they believe in — even if my head totally caught on fire last year when TL/RX did a promotional thing with PETA2. I also endorse using the internet to do fast-fire releases. There’s a lot of good here. And as TL himself signs off: “Stay informed, stay alive - resist and survive” — in whatever way you chose to do so.
