quoteOne of the most visually compelling scenes in the film is when Diana Scott (Julie Christie) goes to Paris with Miles Brand (Laurence Harvey) to a “sophisticated party” with “astonishing people.” A game of Cinema Verité ensues — basically strip poker meets truth or dare meets musical chairs, where participants swap outfits and are then forced to reveal some truth about the person whose clothes they are wearing. The other guests, many of them men wearing women’s clothes, are a vision of beatnik style and decadence.
